Built as a school in 1909, The Parade is now a thriving hub for the community hosting food fairs, conferences, film nights, meetings and is a centre for dance and music.
The Centre is the host for the Hoylake Beer Festival however it is also a vibrant venue for a variety of private functions such as parties, business conferences and meetings. There are a number of community activities that take place each week with over 100 classes to choose from for all ages. Throughout the year there are many different events including children’s parties, exhibitions and food fairs.
The Parade is currently undertaking a massive fundraising project so that a lift a can be installed at the Centre. The project will also see disabled toilet facilities built on the first floor. Now that the building is independent from the Local Authority, all maintenance and improvement works must be funded by the Centre. Not having a lift creates difficulties for those with mobility problems to fully access the wide range of events and classes that are held upstairs. To be able to carry out the works, a remaining £20,000 will need to be raised through further fundraising and donations.
The Parade is a centre for the whole community and we want the building to be fully accessible to everyone as soon as possible.
